I'm Chef Zara of Epicurean Fling in Joshua Tree, CA.
I focus on gourmet vegetarian, inspired by many cuisines, and feel right at home with gluten free, sugar free and vegan requests as well. I take pride in seeing that my mostly plant based foods are satisfying and in demand by both vegetarians and carnivores alike.

Zara was so easy to work with and made herself at home in the kitchen, while we were in the backyard getting married. "2 days ago I ordered a "carrot cake with an abstract desert design" from local caterer Epicurean Fling. I love carrot cake but have failed at making a decent one, so I figured why not ask a pro? Zara came though in a huge way! I like my carrot cake chunky...she gave me delicious chunks of sweet carrots, coconut, pineapple, raisins, nuts, and spices. I'm not sure how she got the cake so moist but it's divine! Zara realizes that a sweet, moist carrot cake done right requires little frosting. She added just the right amount of a creamy frosting and decorations that balanced the sweetness of the cake perfectly. Finally, Zara put her painterly finishing touch on my cake with a delicate abstract desert design in earth tones. She even added my name in the corner which made it even more special. Zara specializes in vegan and vegetarian recipes. I'm an omnivore and love her vegetarian tacos! This cake is perfect for school or workplace potlucks, a loved one's birthday, anniversary, or individual indulgences!"

"Epicurean Fling was an absolute delight to the taste buds this morning. I've never tried a cassava wrap let alone a vegan one. The few pieces I grabbed from her menu this morning was a bbq cassava wrap with a cabbage & caper slaw with pickled carrots & pepitas. Some empanadas with a mango dipping sauce and for a sweet treat, I got some Mexican spiced cupcakes. So pleased to have a little treat for myself & having it brought to my own home" -Stephanie G.
"We scored another AMAZING meal by zara tonight!!! Her catering helps make this pandemic a little more bearable- she makes the weekend feel special with her delicious, fresh, healthy, super-yummy food- delivered to our door... (or actually- to our patio)!
I think this our fifth (?!) meal she’s delivered- and every single thing we’ve ordered has exceeded our expectations and left us just basking in the perfect flavors... just enough spice- just enough of everything!!!
This time we got homemade gnocchi with a roasted tomato basil sauce and grilled veggies (we got mushrooms, yellow zucchini and red bell peppers)... Oh! And we got puff pastry bites with beet strips and caramelized onions with gorgonzola... be-still my heart!
By the time we took this photo we’d already inhaled several of them. SO delicious- and her good vibes must be infused into the food because after eating we always feel energized and light... what a treat!!!"
